Since the early Jazz, the trumpet has always been the king of instruments.
Most of the new jazz styles were created by trumpet heroes of their time. New Orleans, Swing and Cool became timeless terms in jazz.
Combine the power of Louis Armstrong, with the cool of Miles Davis and the lyrism of Chet Baker, and you will get: The Trumpack!

The Men

Part of the jazz trumpet tradition is the singing.
Dizzy Gillespie, Chet Baker and Louis Armstrong all created an indispensable vocal repertoire. Trumpeters Philip Harper Michael Varekamp and Eef van Breen decided to combine their strength in this program.

Varekamp toured all over the world and played a.o. with David Murray, Lester Bowie and Deborah Brown.

Philip Harper started his career in New York, with the legendary drummer Art Blakey as one of the messengers to then later be come successful with his brother as The Harper Brothers. Also Philip played with the Mingus Dynasty, Benny Golson, Cedar Walton and many more jazz heroes.

The Trumpack is completed with Eef van Breen, famous for his lyrical phrases and dazzling scat solos.
Combined with the bravura of the Rat pack The Trumpack is complete!
